Mrs. Brant worked at Mallory for 30 years, retiring in 1986. She received her GED after retirement at the age of 67. She was a home healthcare aide for Lutheran Community Services until the age of 81. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, and was a Pink Lady, a Gold Lady and a Salvation Army bellringer.
Mrs. Brant was born Oct. 13, 1920, in Jefferson County, IN, to Carl W. and Stella M. Warren Miller. She married Walter A. Carr on Aug. 31, 1937, and he died. She married Bernard B. Brant on Oct. 10, 1946, and he died May 19, 1981.
She is survived by a son, Walter Calvin (wife Peggy) Carr of Frankfort; a daughter, Vivian F. (husband Benson) Hodgen of Frankfort; a stepson, Tom (wife Marlene) Brant of Frankfort; a stepdaughter, Janet S. (husband Norman) Dixon Fairfield of Frankfort; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
One grandchild and one great-grandchild preceded her in death.
Services will be noon Tuesday in Genda Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Alber officiating. Calling will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Whiteman Cemetery.
