FUNERAL HOME
Mr. Gard attended Rossville, IN, and Frankfort High schools. He lived in the Rossville and Frankfort area all of his life. He owned and operated Gard's Country Appliance before retiring in 1992.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. He was a member of Woodside Christian Church and a past member of the VFW. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener, and enjoyed working crossword puzzles.

He was born Jan. 24, 1926, in Tippecanoe County to Samuel S. and Dorothy Mae Taylor Gard. He married Lois J. Burns on Aug. 17, 1956, and she survives.

Also surviving are one son, Daniel Gard of Minnesota; one granddaughter, Tasha; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Teresa Walker; five sisters; and two brothers.

Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Genda Funeral Home, 608 N. Main St., Frankfort, IN, with Pastor Richard Hawthorne officiating. Burial will be private. Calling will begin at 1 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kokomo or the Woodside Christian Church
W. Bruce Gard, 81, 1509 W. Barner St., Frankfort, IN, died at 1:52 p.m. Nov. 19, 2007, in his home.
