Lowell G. Brodrick
On April 9 the life of Lowell G. Brodrick ended here on earth. A viewing will be held Monday, April 13, from 4-7 PM at Genda Funeral Home. Funeral will be Tuesday, April 14, at 2:00 PM at the Wesley Manor Chapel, Chaplain Ron Mann officiating, with calling for one hour prior to the service.

Lowell G. Brodrick was born in Greenville, Ohio, on April 13, 1927, a son to Omar S. and Treva Brodrick. His sister, Pauline, and brothers, Verl, Earl, and Hermon, preceded him in death.

On August 10, 1947, he married his childhood sweetheart, Janis Louise Oliver. After graduating from University of Cincinnati in 1952, they moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where he worked as an electrical engineer for P.R. Mallory. In 1966 he transferred to Frankfort, Indiana.

In dedication to his country, Lowell served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

For his community he volunteered as treasurer and Sunday school teacher for the church, video repairer for the public library, ticket collector at high school athletic events, kindergarten teacher's aide at Kyger Elementary, Meals on Wheels, and Manor volunteer shopper.

His daughters are Debora (Allen) Johnson of Dunmore, West Virginia, Beth (Ace) Yakey of Indianapolis, Indiana and Sandra Horvath of West Chicago, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Jesse (Joan) Johnson of North Augusta, SC; Ethan Johnson of Cincinnati, OH; Joel (Naomi) Johnson of Berea, KY; Micah Johnson of Chevy Chase, MD; Abby Yakey of Chicago, IL; Anna Yakey of Miami, FL; Rachel Horvath of Silt, CO; Nicholas Horvath of West Chicago, IL; and two great-grandchildren, Genesis Johnson and Luke Johnson.

Much of his life he enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, camping, woodworking, canoeing, chess playing, singing bass in the church choir, photography, croquet, and traveling with his wife in every state, Mexico, and Canada.
