Jack L. Kauffman, Sr.
He was born on October 22, 1929 in Lafayette, Indiana to parents Freeman and Mildred Grandstaff Kauffman.
Jack was born and lived in Lafayette before moving to Colfax where he lived for approximate 40 years. He served in the US Army in Korean War. He retired from National Homes and then retired from Miller’s Restaurant in Colfax and after retirement worked as a custodian at St. Mary’s Catholic in Frankfort. Jack loved picking berries, fishing and mushroom hunting with his family. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion in Colfax.
He married Barbara Pauline Heick on February 3, 1951, and she predeceased him having passed away on February 14, 2003.
Survivors include 7 sons: Jack (wife Bev) Kauffman, Jr of West Lafayette, Jerry Kauffman of Lafayette, IN, Rick (Wife Bonnie) Kauffman of Lafayette, IN, Mark (Wife Kitty) Kauffman of Frankfort, IN, Daniel Kauffman of Frankfort, IN, Robert Kauffman of Florida, Tony (Wife Pam) Kauffman of Frankfort, 2 Daughters: Mary E. (Husband Patrick) Foster of Rochester, IN and Teresa (Husband Jeff) Edwards of Colfax, IN, 1 sister - Lucille Smith Kauffman, 23 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, one son Thomas and one Grandson, Jon and 1 Brother Charles Kauffman.
